The 2016 Ford Explorer from El Paso, Texas: A Fresh Touch at Every Corner

The 2016 Ford Explorer dares to make up for the shortcomings of the previous model in terms of control interface, technology features, and interior. The latest model receives enhancements that make it fresher, easier to use, and more refined. From twin-turbocharged engines to “Nirvana” leather seats, it applies a new approach to driving, hoping to pull back buyers who weren’t satisfied with its previous features. If, for any reason, you didn’t fully enjoy the 2015 model, you may want to pay the latest Explorer some attention.

Fast Engines

The 2016 Explorer comes in three engine options. The base 3.5-liter V6 remains with its 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. The turbocharged 2.3-liter, on the other hand, posts 270 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. For even more power and speed, you can opt for Explorer Sport and Explorer Platinum, both equipped with a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged powertrain leveraging 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.

These engines come with a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters located on the steering wheel. You can opt for a front-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive, offering maximum traction, control, and acute handling capacity.

New Skin

The exterior of the 2016 Ford Explorer received several enhancements, and not only in terms of appearance, but also with regard to function. The new grille, bumper, and LED low-beam headlights render it a style similar to that of Land Rover's Range Rover. A front-view camera is also added for better visibility and front parking sensors are available to guide you in and out of parking stalls.

The 2017 Explorer almost seems to be an entirely different model than the previous Explorer. See for yourself and contact a Ford dealer in El Paso, Texas.
